Hey Spoiled Chics!
Have you ever used essential oils or do you know what the benefits are?
Let me explain. Essential oils are compounds extracted from plants. The oils capture the plant's scent and flavors or "essence." Essential oils are obtained through distillation (via steam or water) or mechanical. Once the aromatic chemicals have been extracted, they are combined with a carrier oil to create a product that's ready to use.

The way oils are made is important, essential oils obtained through chemical processes are not considered true essential oils. How do essential oils work? There are many different ways to use essential oils. Essential oils are commonly used in the practices of aromatherapy, in which they are inhaled through various methods. For those of you who have never used essential oils, they are not to be ingested from the mouth, swallowed.
Chemicals in essential oils can interact with your body in different ways. When applied to your skin, some plant chemicals are absorbed. Inhaling the aromas from the essential oil can stimulate your limbic system, which is a part of your brain. The role of the limbic system is the control of emotions, behaviors, sense of smell and long term memory. As a Massage Therapist, I have experience in using aromatherapy treatment with many of my clients. Using essential oils during my massages varies from client to client, which means some of them to know exactly what aromatherapy they want or need for their body, and other clients are not aware of essential oils and its benefits; so I educate them.
During the massage session, the client is asked to inhale the aromatherapy that is mixed in lotion, the remainder of the lotion is then used for the massage which the skin absorbs. a hot towel can be used beforehand to loosen the muscles in the desired area of the client. When the massage session is over, the contents in the bottle that is left over, I always give to the client. Furthermore, aromatherapy is a great way to add some extra relaxation to your body.
